Did your cousin buy it new, or could a previous owner have swapped fairings without mentioning it?

Cousin bought it used a couple years ago and the title shows it as a 2009 ZX-6R but doesn't specify the color scheme. I'm wondering if the previous owner did exactly what you're suggesting (swapped fairings and never mentioned it). Would a VIN lookup tell us what the original color scheme should be? Also, if fairings were swapped, is there a way to identify which model year they might be from?Did your cousin buy it new, or could a previous owner have swapped fairings without mentioning it?
