Wheel compatibility question for 05 ZX-6R

So I'm helping out a friend who's trying to get his 2005 ZX-6R back on the road after it's been sitting for a while. The front wheel is toast, and we're on the hunt for a replacement that won't cost us an arm and a leg.

I stumbled upon this guy who's parting out an older Suzuki GSX-R600, and the wheels seem to be a similar size. Before I jump in and grab it, does anyone have a clue if a GSX-R front wheel would fit on a ZX-6R without needing a ton of mods?

I'm not too worried about how it looks, just want to make sure it's safe to ride for now. Any advice or experiences you guys have would be super helpful

GSX-R wheel might look close, but fitment tricky, axle, spacers and rotor offset can all be different. Safer to wait for a proper ZX-6R wheel and avoid the hassle I think.

Would you really trust your life to a front-end setup that's been cobbled together from two completely different bikes without verifying every single measurement?

Hey, just a heads up, mixing and matching parts isn't something you want to do unless you're totally ready to measure everything! We're talking axle size, spacer width, rotor offset, caliper clearance... you name it. If you're looking at a ZX-6R wheel from 2005 to 2010, just go for it! It's plug-and-play and way safer. Taking risks with your ride isn't the best idea, trust me

It's not plug and play, meaning you'll probably need some fabrication and extra parts and even then, as the others mentioned, the safety is questionable. Don't risk it, saving a few bucks isn't worth it.
